I mean, I appreciated it at the time, sure, but I can't imagine it was worth it for what was probably a fairly niche video release. Funimation's uncut release for Dragon Ball Z probably should have been the model: just take the existing dub dialogue, warts and all and just do some redubbing as necessary (to either cover for deleted scenes, or when the script was changed for censorship purposes or no longer matches what's on screen). I'd even say swapping out the OST would have been optional, though appreciated, as long as the Japanese version was there. Shaman King in particular featured very few cuts to begin with, so it probably would have been the easiest show of theirs to do that with, but c'est la vie.
